Part 2: Relation to the movie

The self connects:

• V wanted to avenge what was done to him because of the government

• Eve wants justice for what she had to witness happen to her parents

• V was immune to the drugs they gave him so he had fast reflexes and he was tested on

• V and Eve both have the same mindset as to how the end should turn out in regards to the government

• V just wanted to make sure that everyone who ever harmed him would die so that he would finally be okay with dying – wanted justice to be served before he was sent for dead- Would feel fulfilled with his life if he made a great impact on the very people who stripped him of his personality

• Makes her realize the government absolutely ruined lives- greater than what happened to her family- realizes why V does what he does

Mentor:

• V is mentor to Evey

• V brought eve into his mess because she helped him get out of trouble in the beginning

• Eve is now forced to stay with V through his mission for about a year

• Throughout their time spent together Evey realized that both V and Evey’s end goal were alike, they wanted justice for their society and what was done to them

Ally:

• V can be the hero in this context

• V convinced Evey to forgo his plan once he faced his ultimate demise

• Evey was loyal and stuck to the plan when she had many times to escape

• Loyalty to V is very strong as seen through Evey’s resistance to withdraw info about V despite the amount of torture she had to go through

• Both would take turns in distracting government figures while the other kills them etc. like when Eve distracted the bishop

Hero:

• Speaks for the greater majority of people

• He returns England masked to get revenge from the government

• Very impulsive and acts before thinking when committing crimes

• Challenges himself to take on a challenge for the greater good

• Characterized by courage, strength and honour

• V

Shadow:

• Created the evil we see in V

• Tortured his citizens

• Hid his darkness from society

• Executed those whose ideas opposed his own

• Wanted to destroy V to prevent his true self from being exposed

• Chancellor Stutler
